The Meeting

Cecil is a careful, set-in-his-ways store manager who hates the rain. Wendy is a fun-loving, superstitious barmaid. They live a few stops apart on London’s Northern Line and have never met. Over one ordinary evening and the rainy morning after, the narrator follows them both, and promises that fate is about to bring them together at the most significant moment of their lives, against odds of hundreds of millions to one.
