FILM SYNOPSIS
The Fab 4 and the Silent Retreat (2022) follows four spirited, middle-aged Caribbean best friends who candidly navigate life’s complexities during an intense post-workout catch-up. Seeking clarity and connection, the close-knit group embarks on a soul-searching trip to a silent retreat in Nepal, only for their rambunctious personalities and mischievous banter to collide hilariously with the strict quietude demanded by their environment. The film balances comedic hijinks with heartfelt warmth, highlighting the unconditional support, resilience, and enduring power of female friendship through every stage of life.
DIRECTOR’S VISION
Peter Sagnia is a London, UK-born Cinematographer and filmmaker, now residing in
Maarten in the Caribbean. He is the award-winning Director and Executive Producer
of the short film “Fab 4 and the Silent Retreat” (2022). Peter participated in the “ Stories
and Beyond” Writer/Producer lab at the Netherlands Film Festival 2022, for his project
“Sinned Maarten.” His production company serves the region offering industry standard
commercials for corporations, working with clients from pre-production through to final
deliverables. Clients include, NBC, FOX, UNICEF, MACALLAN, MASTERCLASS, PIZZA HUT
and many more.
WRITER/PRODUCER VISION
The Fab 4 and the Silent Retreat was created by our own Diane De La Haye!
Diane is an award-winning Jamaican-Canadian Director, Producer and Screenwriter
with over 10 years experience collaborating with filmmakers from around the world
on Features, Documentaries and TV series. Diane was intrigued at the thought of a
Silent Retreat and what havoc a group of loud, mischievous ladies could wreak
upon the unsuspecting community and their guru's peaceful soul.
This is her passion project with a vision to spread knowledge on Afro-Caribbean cultures.
